Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Draftsman to create technical drawings and plans that support manufacturing operations. The Draftsman will work closely with engineers, production teams, and project managers to develop accurate drawings for fabrication, assembly, and installation. The ideal candidate has strong CAD expertise, technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, and excellent attention to detail. We may also consider a highly motivated entry-level candidate with relevant education and a strong willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Convert design concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate production-ready drawings.
- Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes and production feedback.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry regulations, and quality requirements.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain drawing documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project files.
- Assist in prototype development and design modifications as required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or associate's degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
- 2+ years of drafting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ERP systems and document control procedures.
- Basic understanding of engineering calculations and design principles.
