About This Position


Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes? Charlotte County is seeking a motivated professional to support our fixed asset management program. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in tracking, maintaining, and managing County property while providing outstanding service to departments, vendors, and the public.

In this position, you will be responsible for tagging and recording newly acquired fixed assets, maintaining accurate inventory documentation, and coordinating on-site asset verifications. You will also assist with the disposal and surplus process for County equipment, including preparing required documentation and supporting public auctions through item coordination, listing preparation, and customer assistance.

Additionally, this role helps maintain vendor records, supports vehicle title and registration documentation, prepares reports, and ensures clear communication regarding asset additions and deletions across County departments. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service.


Education and Experience:
An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in inventory control and fixed asset management.

Licenses and/or Certificates:
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

The ideal candidate possesses comprehensive knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and modern office practices, including inventory control and fixed asset management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other job-related software is required, along with the ability to operate standard office equipment and perform accurate data entry, recordkeeping, and basic accounting functions. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and reports are essential.

The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. The successful candidate must be able to meet deadlines, prepare correspondence and reports independently, provide high-quality customer service through various communication methods, and establish effective working relationships with employees, vendors, and the public. The ability to follow instructions, resolve problems with tact and resourcefulness, and operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties is also required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Stooping, sitting, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception. Frequent lifting of 10 to 25 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work requires some exposure to environmental changes (e.g., outdoor weather and/or field conditions, warehouses, covered loading docks, garages, etc.) or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights and/or dust.

RISK/SAFETY CONDITIONS
The position requires some exposure or risk to physical health and/or physical safety (e.g., exposure to environmentally hazardous material, assault and battery, heavy equipment, communicable disease, etc.).
