About This Position

Role Summary

The Industrial & Small Construction Projects Supervisor oversees the planning, estimating, coordination, and execution of small construction, HVAC, piping, and welding projects—while supporting industrial piping and specialized welding work. This role bridges service, special projects, and construction, owning projects from takeoff and estimate through closeout, while ensuring safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

This is a hands-on, field-driven leadership role ideal for someone with strong industrial piping, welding, and small construction experience who can estimate work, lead crews, and manage multiple fast-moving projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Pre-Construction
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare estimates for small construction, HVAC, piping, and welding projects.
  • Develop scopes of work, labor projections, material lists, and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate pricing with vendors and suppliers.
  • Identify constructability considerations during takeoff to reduce field issues.
  • Support service managers and operations with quick-turn estimates and pricing.
Project Oversight & Execution
  • Supervise and manage projects from planning through completion.
  • Perform site walks to verify scope, assess existing conditions, and confirm constructability.
  • Lead projects including:
    • Industrial piping and welding (process piping, steam, compressed air)
    • Small duct jobs (new installs and modifications)
    • Structural welding and custom fabrication
    • Tenant improvements and small renovations
    • Weekend shutdowns and time-sensitive construction work
  • Develop work plans, schedules, and manpower plans to meet project deadlines.
  • Coordinate materials, fabrication, equipment deliveries, and subcontractors.
Team Leadership
  • Provide daily direction to pipefitters, welders, HVAC technicians, and installers.
  • Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to installation and welding standards.
  • Train and mentor field staff on best practices and job execution.
  • Enforce safety policies and company standards on all jobsites.
Customer & Internal Coordination
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customers on assigned projects.
  • Communicate scope, schedule, and progress clearly and professionally.
  • Manage customer expectations and address issues promptly.
  • Work closely with Service, Operations, Estimating, and Leadership teams.
Financial Management
  • Manage job costs to ensure projects meet margin expectations.
  • Review and approve labor hours, materials, and job expenses.
  • Identify and communicate change orders and additional work opportunities.
  • Track project performance from estimate through completion.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project files including takeoffs, estimates, daily logs, change orders, and closeout documentation.
  • Provide regular status updates to management.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed timely and accurately.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Participate in safety meetings and job hazard planning.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial, HVAC, piping, or construction environments.
  • Strong experience with industrial piping and welding construction.
  • Estimating and quantity takeoff experience for small construction or service projects.
  • Proven ability to lead crews and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to read drawings, specs, and scopes of work.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable in field and office environments.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding certifications (pipe and/or structural)
  • HVAC Journeyman or Master’s License
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • Estimating software experience (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Experience in retrofit, shutdown, and live-
