SUMMER STUDENT JOB OPPORTUNITY Case Aide - Family & Community Support Services - 12 weeks Salary Range: $20.00 per hour |
JOB SUMMARY:
The Summer Student – Case Aide provides administrative and program support to the Child and Family Advocacy Unit (CFAU). This role assists Band Representatives, the Family Support Worker, and the Jordan’s Principle Case Manager with daily office tasks and service coordination. The student will also help promote awareness of CFAU programs and support children and families through engagement with the team. Additional duties may be assigned to support overall unit operations and community wellness initiatives.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Providing support to the Child and Family Advocacy Unit which include the following
- Assisting with administration duties within the office
- Administration duties will include assisting Band Reps, the Family Support Worker and the Jordan’s Principle Case Manager
- Promote awareness of the Child and Family Advocacy Unit team and the programs that are offered within the unit.
- Working with the children & families to provide support to the CFAU team
- Perform other duties as assigned
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Preference will be given to members or residents of Sagamok Anishnawbek
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
- Must sign and comply with confidentiality requirements
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check prior to employment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must demonstrate enrollment as a full-time student in the previous academic semester school and be returning full time in the fall of 2026/2027 Academic school year.
- Must be eligible for Sagamok Anishnawbek ISETP program funding (member of Sagamok, valid SIN #)
- Must have, or be willing to obtain First Aid, WHIMIS, & Health and Safety in 4 Steps
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and email software
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) and be self-motivated.
- Knowledge of and respect for Anishnawbek values, teachings, culture, and traditions is of critical importance.
- Preference will be given to those applicants enrolled in health, recreational and/or human services.
