Job Description
Job Summary:
The Information Systems Performance Improvement Coordinator works in collaboration with department management staff to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies to address performance improvement opportunities within the department. Serves as a facilitator for the department’s performance improvement initiatives and related activities. Provides and facilitates education and training for the department staff related to performance improvement activities, documentation and billing requirements and the use of information systems. Serves as a functional and clinical expert regarding the software capabilities, performance and content of the information systems and databases used in the Rehabilitative Services Department, as well as interfaces needed with other hospital applications

1. Knowledge of appropriate therapy discipline principles and procedures.
2. Effective oral and written communication skills.
3. Ability to understand, use and teach the principles of performance improvement.
4. Ability to evaluate quality/performance issues and present data to other professionals in a clear concise manner.
5. Proficient in analytical assessment and creative problem solving.
6. Strong technical skills in a wide variety hardware, software and operating systems.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Associates and customers.
8. Ability to collaborate with end users, team members, and management in projects and Hospital operational issues.
Work Experience:
Three years of professional clinical experience (inpatient or outpatient) in Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy required.
One year of experience working with performance or quality improvement initiatives and information systems preferred.
License/Registration/Certification:
Current license to practice in Texas in rehab-specific discipline (SLP, OT, PT).
Current CPR training required.
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited SLP, OT, or PT program required. Alternatively may have Associate Degree from accredited PTA or COTA program with Master’s degree in a field related to the position, e.g. business or information technology.
