Reports To: Logistics Manager
Job Summary: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations. The Shipping Clerk will obtain, package and prepare orders for shipment. This role involves coordinating with various departments, maintaining shipping records, and ensuring timely pick-up and delivery of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and documentation.Verify and compare identifying information on outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Coordinate with carriers and schedule pick-ups for shipments.Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking information and shipping costs.Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from damage.Operate shipping equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as needed.Load and unload LTL, dry vans, flatbeds, sprinter vans, etc. Communicate with internal departments to resolve any shipping-related issues.Assist in maintaining inventory of shipping supplies and materials.Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 1 year of experience in a shipping or warehouse environment.Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to operate shipping equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.Ability to lift and move items up to 51 pounds.
