Description:

The Norplex Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of finished goods and materials. This role provides hands-on leadership to the shipping team, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met while maintaining strong alignment with production, inventory, and customer service.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling, prioritization, and workflow coordination
  • Ensure all outbound shipments are accurate, properly packaged, labeled, and shipped on time
  • Coordinate with production, customer service, and logistics to meet delivery requirements and customer expectations
  • Supervise and support shipping associates, including training, task assignment, and performance feedback
  • Verify shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier paperwork
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for finished goods and shipping materials
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures
  • Monitor shipping KPIs such as on-time delivery, accuracy, and freight cost control
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors or delays
  • Assist with cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation activities
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2–5 years of shipping, logistics, or warehouse experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • 1–2 years of informal or formal leadership experience preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse or manufacturing shipping area and requires standing, lifting, and operating material handling equipment. Exposure to industrial environments, including noise and temperature variations, may occur.
