Overview
Southern Grounds is a chef-driven all day cafe, featuring coffee from Intelligentsia roasters. We're hospitality-obsessed, and team-focused. We're currently hiring experienced baristas.
SoGro is rapidly expanding, and this role offers great potential for growth!

Duties
-Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, wines, beers and cocktails with precision and hospitality!
-Handle prep tasks such as making cold brew, brewing teas and coffee, prepping cocktail batches and stocking items.
-Operate Toast POS efficiently while handling cash transactions
-Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries promptly
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling stations and seating areas
-Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality
-Follow all food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers

Requirements
-Prior barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is highly preferred
-Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS is a plus
-Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
-Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
-Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing
-Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
-Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably around the café, and lift moderate loads as needed
-Experience in serving or food service roles within cafés or retail environments is advantageous
