Position Overview

Symphony is seeking an experienced EHR Product / Platform Manager to lead the strategic direction, governance, implementation, optimization, compliance posture, and scalability of the enterprise EHR platform across Symphony and affiliated practices.

This role is responsible for enabling new site onboarding, standardizing workflows, driving integration strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reducing operational costs through platform optimization. The EHR Product / Platform Manager serves as the connective link between clinical leadership, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), operations, IT, compliance, and third-party vendors to ensure EHR functions as a secure, compliant, and scalable enterprise system.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise EHR Strategy, Governance & Roadmap

  • Maintain and execute the enterprise EHR roadmap aligned with MSO growth objectives
  • Establish and enforce enterprise-wide governance standards across all entities
  • Standardize workflows to reduce variation and improve scalability
  • Collaborate on release management, change control, and configuration standards
  • Prioritize initiatives based on ROI, operational impact, compliance risk, and scalability

Compliance, Regulatory & Security Governance

  • Ensure EHR configurations and integrations support compliance with:
  1. ONC Cures Act (including Information Blocking and interoperability mandates)
  2. HIPAA Privacy & Security Rule
  3. ISMS framework requirements
  4. PCI DSS (as applicable to payment workflows)
  5. ISO/IEC standards (as applicable to enterprise security posture)
  6. HITRUST CSF alignment (where applicable)
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, IT, and Security teams on data governance and access controls
  • Oversee role-based access management, audit logging, and PHI security configurations
  • Ensure interoperability features (APIs, FHIR endpoints, data sharing) align with regulatory mandates
  • Evaluate third-party integrations for compliance risk, BAA alignment, and data handling standards
  • Support internal and external audits, including MIPS reporting workflows
  • Drive policies that prevent information blocking and support appropriate patient data access

New Site Enablement & Implementation

  • Lead EHR onboarding for new practices and ASCs joining the MSO
  • Develop and execute repeatable implementation playbooks (pre-go live, go-live, post-go live)
  • Standardize templates, order sets, billing configurations, and security roles
  • Coordinate data migration, interface setup, and vendor onboarding
  • Oversee go-live support and stabilization

Workflow Optimization & Cost Reduction

  • Evaluate clinical, billing, and operational workflows to reduce cost to operate
  • Identify automation opportunities (rule engine, claim edits, task routing, reporting)
  • Partner with RCM and clinical leadership to eliminate revenue leakage
  • Optimize enterprise reporting and analytics for KPI visibility
  • Balance operational efficiency with compliance and audit requirements

Integration & Vendor Ecosystem Management

  • Evaluate and manage third-party integrations (clearinghouses, patient engagement tools, assessments, AI tools, faxing, payment solutions)
  • Ensure integrations align with enterprise architecture and interoperability standards
  • Assess applications for redundancy, measurable value, and compliance risk
  • Manage interface performance, data integrity, and secure transmission standards
  • Partner with IT and Security to maintain encryption, access controls, and monitoring

Enterprise Reporting & Data Strategy

  • Define enterprise reporting structures across TINs and entities
  • Partner with Finance and RCM to ensure billing entity visibility and KPI consistency
  • Develop dashboards for operations, physician leadership, and executive review
  • Ensure reporting supports Joint Operating Committees (JOCs), payer strategy, and compliance monitoring
  • Establish data governance standards for reporting accuracy and auditability

Training & Knowledge Enablement

  • Create scalable training content and SOPs for clinical, clerical, and billing teams
  • Develop onboarding modules for new hires and offshore teams
  • Educate stakeholders on compliance-sensitive workflows (information blocking, PHI access, documentation standards)
  • Support go-live efforts with structured training and implementation support

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with eClinicalWorks, Nextgen, MediSoft, Epic, Athena (enterprise environment preferred)
  • Experience in multi-site healthcare operations or MSO environment
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Practice management workflows
    • Full RCM lifecycle
    • Clearinghouse integrations
    • Interface management (HL7, FHIR, APIs)
    • Healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, ONC Cures Act)
  • Experience leading platform implementations or migrations
  • Ability to translate clinical, billing, technical, and compliance requirements into scalable enterprise solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in ASC + clinic hybrid environments
  • Multi-TIN enterprise configuration experience
  • Exposure to offshore operational teams
  • Familiarity with EHR third-party application architecture
  • Experience working within HITRUST, ISO/IEC, ISMS, or PCI DSS-aligned environments
