MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

As a Junior Designer, you support the design team in developing custom furniture, drapery, and wall upholstery projects from concept to production.

You contribute to translating design intent into clear and accurate technical documents, while learning how to balance creativity with technical feasibility. You work under the guidance of senior team members and progressively build autonomy.

MISSIONS1. Design Development
    Assist in translating client concepts, sketches, and references into design proposals

    Support the preparation of DFA (Design for Approval) packages

    Contribute to design iterations and updates (redlines, revisions)

    Participate in material and design research

2. Technical Documentation
    Produce 2D drawings and support 3D modeling (Rhino) under supervision

    Assist in preparing shop drawings and technical packages (DFC)

    Ensure accuracy and clarity of documents with guidance from senior designers

    Maintain organized files and drawing databases

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Work closely with Designers and Project Managers on ongoing projects

    Support coordination with workshop teams to clarify basic technical points

    Assist in sourcing materials, fabrics, and components

4. Prototyping, Samples
    Participate in the development of mock-ups and samples

    Support testing and refinement of designs (comfort, proportions, finishes)

    Integrate feedback into updated drawings

5. Quality & Design Integrity

    Help ensure consistency between design intent and execution

    Review drawings and dimensions with guidance

    Support quality checks on simple elements

6. Drapery & Window Treatment
    Assist in developing technical drawings for curtains and window treatments

    Support documentation for fabrication instructions

    Learn detailing and construction methods

7. Learning & Team Contribution
    Learn Jouffre’s design standards and processes

    Contribute to team organization and documentation

    Stay curious about materials, techniques, and craftsmanship

PROFILEWe are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Designer eager to develop both creative and technical skills in a high-end, custom environment.

Experience & Background

    2–3 years of experience (internships or first role) in furniture, interior, or product design

    Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, or related field

    Interest in craftsmanship, materials, and fabrication

Technical Skills

    Intermediate knowledge of Rhino

    Ability to produce clear drawings (training provided)

    Interest in upholstery and/or drapery techniques

Contract Type: Full time (40 hours per week)
