About This Position

POSITION SUMMARYThe Airport Operations Specialist provides administrative support, technical/programmatic activities, and subject-matter expertise in airport operations to achieve ongoing regulatory compliance, continuous program improvements, and adequate business flow. The role contributes to the development of governance documents and enterprise-level frameworks, and supports the Manager, HSSE, in ensuring programs align with YMM’s strategic goals and organizational values. The Specialist is positioned to act as a designate for the Manager, HSSE when required, supporting succession planning and business continuity.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide General Administration Support by:

Content and user management of learning management and information management applications. Data collection, entry, extraction, organization, and/or storage. Coordinating and tracking projects. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders through business communications. Planning, logistics, procurement, and/or operational support for meetings, travel, events, and training. Assist in the maintenance of inventory. Perform Technical/Programmatic Activities by:

Prepare and/or develop materials associated with FMAA’s Integrated Management System including, but not limited to, Occupational Health & Safety, Aviation Safety Management, Public Safety, Environment, Security, and Emergency Management programs. Inclusive of work orders, project plans, and documents such as standards, procedures, protocols, risk assessments, audit and inspection checklists, and training materials. Assist in developing, reviewing, and maintaining governance documents and frameworks such as the IMS Manual, audit program tools, and organizational standards that ensure integration across programs. Conduct internal and external research and compile data. Data processing and visualization. Coordinate and assist audit & inspection activities (application of internal and/or external standards and specifications) Provide technical expertise and recommendations on the airport’s operational compliance with relevant Canadian and industry specific regulations and standards. Deliver training and awareness sessions on governance processes, compliance expectations, and use of enterprise frameworks. Initial diagnosis, analysis, and troubleshooting of user issues with internal and external information management applications/platforms. Coordination with system/platform administrator for issues requiring in-depth or higher technical support. Train others in the use of information management system(s) and other applicable applications/platforms. Support emergency operations by conducting Incident Management Team functions during irregular or emergency operations, cooperating to implement business continuity measures, and/or administering information and records during and following irregular and emergency operations. Act as designate for the Manager, HSSE for routine program coordination, audit follow-ups, and participation in committees (e.g., IMS Committee, Joint HSSE Committee).

REQUIREMENTS:

Possess an Airport Operations or Airport Management diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid FMAA Airport Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP). Obtain and maintain an FMAA Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) Possess and maintain a class 5 driving license and a clean driving abstract. Provide a Police Criminal Record Check that is less than 6 months old. Practical working skills of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
