Maintenance Technician I - 1st Shift at Bonita Packing Co A Corp – Santa Maria, California

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician I supports daily plant operations by performing basic mechanical and electrical maintenance under supervision. This role focuses on developing foundational technical skills, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting senior maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter and belt replacement, and cleaning.
• Assist senior technicians with repairs, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and stocked with proper tools and materials.
• Accurately document all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, GMP, and all safety standards.
• Participate in ongoing safety, technical, and equipment training sessions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Basic mechanical aptitude and tool usage.
• Familiarity with Cal/OSHA safety protocols and LOTO practices.
• Ability to follow directions and learn new equipment systems.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Advancement Criteria

• Demonstrated dependability and work ethic.
• Proficient in CMMS documentation and basic preventive maintenance.
• Completion of foundational maintenance and safety training modules.
• Supervisor recommendation for promotion to Level 2.
