ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides direct outpatient care in a physician driven; hospital-based wound care department.


• Coordinates wound care for each patient specific to their needs.


• Communicates with other departments in the hospital, primary care providers and all wound clinic staff in regards to the patient plan of care and optimal wound healing outcome.


• Responds to changes in the patient’s medical status through communication with providers as needed.


• Ability to perform wound care assessments on a patient.


• Ability to implement and revise plan of care as indicated by the patients response to their treatment.


• Knowledge of medication and their correct administration based on age of patient and their clinical condition.


• Maintains current certifications through continuing education.


• Responsible for nursing documentation related to patient consults and treatment.


• Provides efficient, quality centered, cost effective wound care for each patient.

• Current unrestricted Wyoming RN or LPN license.


• BLS certification


• Previous experience in Wound Care preferred


• Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, pharmacology, and equipment.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.


• Basic computer knowledge, data entry, word processing, excel, EMR (Cerner)


• Maintain confidentiality.
