Sanitation Associate at Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery – Clifton, New Jersey

• Wipes down appliances and furniture.
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Gathers and empty trash.
• Service, clean and supply restrooms and other common areas.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Notify management concerning the need for repairs.
• Attendance and Punctuality are critical.

• Professional, organized, efficient with ability to work quickly.
• Detailed, giving special attention to each task.
• Strong work ethic with a positive approach to the job.
• Work well alone and as a member of a team.
• Ability to use various type of cleaning chemicals; some toxic.
• Ability to follow the instructions and operate in a safe, efficient and effective fashion.
• No educational requirement.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing with ability to move around warehouse/office environment.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, lift and carry items.
• Above average coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot and balance.
• Physical strength to handle up to 25-lb objects.
• Above average endurance.
• Normal dexterity of arms, hands, wrists and fingers with high level of repetition.
• Eyesight with ability to distinguish color; perception of sound is required; ability to hear and communicate issues verbally.

Mental Effort:

• Ability to pay careful attention, with above average concentration.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Work Environment:
• Standard food production warehouse environment.
• Working near moving equipment (e.g. forklifts) and machinery (e.g., conveyor belts, production machinery).
• Exposure to moderate to loud noise.
• Exposure to chemicals.
• Florescent lighting.
• Cleanliness/sanitation is required.
• Typically, 8-12 hour shifts and incumbent can work during the day or night.
• Production environment includes smells of cookies and other food products.
• Products manufactured in the facility may contain peanuts and tree nuts.

Structure & Predictability:

• Position will have a high degree of structure and predictability, e.g., complete same tasks each shift.
• Incumbent will work in generally the same areas each day.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
