Job Description
Works collaboratively within the Marketing & Public Relations (MPR) team and throughout the organization, to develop and implement internal and external communications for all audiences through relevant communication channels. Acts as the Public Information Officer for the organization. Shapes and implements internal and external communication strategies to inform, connect and engage target audiences while enhancing communication at every opportunity to improve message clarity and consistency. This role assists with the planning, production, editing and distribution of communications in all forms and assists with the roll-out of communications for organization-wide events and initiatives. Maintains solid relations with news media and serves as spokesperson to include pro-active, positive news and reactive issue management.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism or related field.
- Master’s preferred or willingness to pursue.
Minimum Work Experience
- 5 years’ related experience.
- Experience in developing and implementing integrated external communication plans, preferably in the health care environment.
- Experience in interfacing with the media.
- Experience leading communication plans for large scale projects or change initiatives.
- Experience in developing written and voice content for internal and external audiences.
- Video creation/production experience preferred.
- Emergency response experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Accredited Public Relations (APR) preferred

- Demonstrated writing proficiency.
- Strong corporate communications skills with hands-on approach.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours on occasion, including some weekends and evenings.
- Highly discreet, able to routinely handle confidential materials.
- Ability to effectively build and manage employee and community relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of web and other online communication vehicles.
- Knowledge and skills in media relations.
- Ability to deal with high stress levels caused by competing priorities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and excellent judgment.
- Ability to operate photography and video equipment as needed.
- Strong Microsoft Windows desktop application skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint) and willingness to learn new skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and other graphic programs such as Canva.
- Knowledge of the importance of corporate branding throughout all aspects of the organization.
Pay Range: $32.15 - $46.84
