Job Summary
Are you a hands-on leader who knows how to keep people, materials, tools, and timelines moving in the same direction? Creative Works is looking for a dependable Floor Manager to lead a satellite production shop specializing in the production of one core product. The primary focus of this position is managing the daily operations, people, quality, and production output of a satellite shop dedicated to consistent, repeatable production of a specialized product.
This role is ideal for someone who can balance craftsmanship with leadership. The right person will be comfortable working on the floor, guiding a team, solving problems, maintaining production flow, and helping build a shop culture where people feel supported, accountable, and proud of the work they produce. This position requires strong emotional intelligence, solid carpentry skills, a willingness to learn, and low voltage knowledge is a major plus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of a satellite production shop focused on one specialized product
- Lead employees to meet production goals and quality expectations
- Perform hands-on carpentry, assembly, repair, low voltage wiring and production work as needed
- Ensure team members understand priorities, deadlines, and expectations
- Maintain production flow by identifying bottlenecks, solving problems, and communicating needs clearly
- Read and follow build documents, shop drawings and production notes
- Ensure products are built consistently, safely, and according to established standards
- Inspect work throughout the production process to verify quality, fit, finish, and completeness
- Train team members on all shop standards
- Promote a positive work environment
- Lead well with different personalities, resolve issues, and keep morale healthy
- Track progress, communicate production status, and report risks or delays in a timely manner
- Maintain inventory and communicate material shortages
- Use computers or software systems to access build documents, track time, update production information, and communicate status
- Follow and enforce all company safety procedures and shop expectations

Qualification Requirements:
- 3+ years in previous leadership, supervisor, team lead, or floor management experience preferred
- Previous experience in carpentry, woodworking, fabrication, assembly, production, or a related hands-on trade
- Ability to read and interpret basic build documents and production instructions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed
- Comfortable using common shop tools and equipment safely
- Basic computer skills for accessing documents, tracking time, and communicating production updates
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when leadership is not onsite
- Willingness to learn Creative Works’ production standards, product details, and internal processes
Relatable Job Experience
- Shop floor leadership or production management
- Carpentry, woodworking, cabinetmaking, or millwork
- Framing, finish carpentry, fixture building, or custom fabrication
- Manufacturing or production environment experience
- Low voltage wiring, basic electrical assembly, or component installation

Pay: $24-$29 per hour based on experience
*This is an onsite position located at our facility on the southwest side of Indianapolis, IN near I-465 & Sam Jones Expressway.
