Safety Specialist (Construction) at Superior Rigging and Erecting Co – Orlando, Florida

Location: Orlando, Florida (This position requires regular, in-person presence at local jobsites in the Orlando area.)

We are seeking an experienced Field Safety Specialist (Construction) to support crane, rigging, and steel erection operations. This role is responsible for executing safety programs, conducting field inspections, and reinforcing regulatory compliance across active jobsites.

This position serves as a key field-level safety resource, partnering with Operations, Project Management, and field leadership to ensure work is planned and executed safely, compliantly, and predictably.

Key Responsibilities

• Support implementation and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine and project-specific jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Verify compliance with OSHA, DOT, and applicable safety regulations.
• Support development and execution of site-specific safety plans and documentation.
• Maintain a consistent field presence to observe work activities and reinforce safe practices.
• Provide real-time safety coaching and guidance during active operations.
• Participate in pre-job planning and higher-risk work reviews.
• Support incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and corrective actions.
• Track corrective actions to completion and communicate lessons learned.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and jobsite safety briefings.
• Serve as a trusted safety resource for field leadership and crews.

Performance Expectations

• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and construction safety regulations.
• Three or more years of construction safety experience preferred.
• Experience supporting crane, rigging, or steel erection operations strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills with field crews and leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
