About this Opportunity:
The Production Planner is responsible for the review and release of work orders. This position will support the overall facility and ensure the timely completion of work orders to meet the needs of our customers. This position will set the priorities for operations and work closely with the purchasing department to have all necessary raw materials and components when they are needed by production.
Responsibilities:
- Master schedules assigned departments on the manufacturing floor.
- Releases work orders to the manufacturing floor and closes work orders upon completion.
- Responsible for holding the shop floor accountable to their commitments.
- Assists setting the daily/weekly/monthly priorities for the manufacturing floor.
- Expedites raw materials and components via the purchasing team.
- Provides updates to upper management on the status of key customer orders.
- Acts as the driving force to meet customer due dates.
- Brings the customer focused teams together with the purchasing and operations teams.
Experience:
- 4-year college degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production or material planning, or a closely related field.
- Experience as a planning professional may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office tools, particularly Excel.
- Requires the ability to change the thinking of or influence others.
- High level communication skills.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to use and analyze an MRP.
