Job Overview

Sweeney's Pavement Maintenance is seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Field Operations team. The ideal candidate holds a valid CDL and is confident operating skid loaders, with a strong work ethic and an eye for detail. In this full-time role, you'll support site preparation and pavement maintenance by transporting equipment, operating machinery, and assisting with asphalt and concrete work on residential, commercial, and industrial job sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate skid loaders, mini excavators, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Transport equipment and materials to job sites using CDL vehicles
• Assist with grading, excavation, and prep work for asphalt or concrete projects
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and job site protocols
• Collaborate with field crew to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work

Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Class A or B) preferred
• Experience operating skid loaders and related equipment
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
• Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions
• Punctual, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision

Preferred:

• Experience in asphalt or concrete work
• Familiarity with additional equipment such as excavators, backhoes, or skid steers

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Monday-Friday
• Weekend work, overtime, and overnight travel as needed
