TEAM LEADER-SAN at Forrest General Hospital – Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Job Summary:

Responsible for daily operations of sanitation services while supervisor is not on duty. Trains, directs, monitors, and coordinates the activities to assure compliance with overall performance standards (quality, quantity, timeliness of services, safety, etc.) Orders all cleaning supplies for the dept. and monitors to assure that they are used correctly to reduce waste and cost. Responsible for weekly china inventory and assure that par level are maintained each week. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate effectively and respectfully with department leadership and subordinate staff to solve problems and prevent reoccurring issues. Assists in sanitation areas where needed. Complete other assignments given by supervisors.

Performance Expectations:

• Demonstrate opening and closing of dish room and pot room.
• Demonstrate operation of all equipment in dish room and pot room area.
• Demonstrate taking all temps and test strips as needed throughout the shift.
• Demonstrate customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers.
• Demonstrate effective training, teaching, organizing and correcting all sanitation staff.
• Demonstrate effective leadership skills with staff.
• Demonstrate competence with time management and meeting deadlines for meal periods.
• Assist with operations where needed

Qualifications:

Education/Skills

High school graduate or GED- Preferred

Work Experience:

One Year of work experience in management or leadership position required. Food service experience preferred.

Mental Demands:

Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement. Accepts responsibility to direct activities of the sanitation services. Resolve problems and meets deadlines. Provide clear, concise directions. Respects confidentiality of information handled. Willingness to work under close time restraints with inconsistent workloads. Willing to rotate hours of work.
