POSITION OVERVIEW

Blackrock Strategy, Inc. is seeking SkillBridge Interns to support mission-driven efforts across assessment, engineering, technical writing, knowledge management, and related domains. This program provides transitioning military personnel with hands-on experience aligned to individual expertise, company capabilities, and client needs.

This role sits at the intersection of analytical problem-solving, technology assessment, and strategic advisory, supporting efforts that accelerate the fielding of emerging capabilities to address Joint operational challenges.

You will interface directly with government leaders, industry partners, and military stakeholders, contributing to data-driven analysis, operational planning, and the development of actionable recommendations for senior Defense leadership.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • You contribute meaningfully to assessments, research, and analysis supporting real-world defense challenges

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support technology assessments through research, data collection, and analysis
  • Collaborate with government, industry, and military stakeholders to understand mission objectives and requirements
  • Establish parameters for data collection and validate findings through testing and independent judgment
  • Analyze complex information to develop insights and recommendations
  • Design and apply analytical models and validation approaches
  • Develop conceptual and detailed plans supporting mission and organizational objectives
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and written deliverables for leadership and stakeholders
  • Support knowledge management initiatives and documentation efforts
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist in implementing solutions
  • Contribute to contingency planning and risk mitigation efforts
  • Perform additional duties in support of mission and program objectives

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • This internship is part of the DoW SkillBridge Program and is not pre-approved by the Department of War
  • Participation requires approval through the service member’s chain of command and applicable installation processes
  • Internship structure and responsibilities are tailored to individual background, company needs, and client priorities
  • Potential for post-internship employment is contingent on performance, business needs, and client demand

COMPENSATION

  • This is an unpaid internship in accordance with DoW SkillBridge program requirements
  • Post-internship employment, if offered, includes competitive compensation and benefits based on experience and role alignment


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active-duty service member eligible for DoW SkillBridge participation
  • High school diploma with 4+ years of relevant experience, or
    Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or
    Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data and identify trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools
  • Ability to operate in dynamic, ambiguous environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting military operations, Joint planning, or defense-related activities
  • Familiarity with technology assessment, data analysis, or knowledge management practices
  • Experience supporting projects involving multiple stakeholders or complex coordination
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging technology, innovation, or defense modernization efforts

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Operates in a remote work environment supporting distributed teams and client engagements
  • Requires collaboration across government, industry, and internal teams
  • Supports mission-driven work in dynamic and evolving operational contexts


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret technical and operational documentation, including government guidance and procedures.
Ability to write clear, concise reports and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to analyze complex problems, gather and interpret data, and develop logical, actionable solutions aligned to mission objectives.
Capable of evaluating multiple perspectives and adapting approaches in dynamic, ambiguous environments.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed
  • Regular use of vision, hearing, and communication in a professional work environment
