Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for enhancing the competencies of individual employees by facilitating training programs to increase employee workplace performance in alignment with our clinical quality goals. Provides guidance, support and structure to the learning process in all aspects of the American Heart Association Training Center courses as dictated by the American Heart Association guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiopulmonary Care (ECC). Facilitates a variety of clinical classes within scope of practice including set up, registration, instruction, remediation, clean up and skills testing.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

3. *Prepares for and effectively facilitates the American Heart Association curriculum within the American Heart Association guidelines.
4. *Prepares for and effectively facilitates course curriculum.
5. Provides an appropriate climate for learning, models appropriate adult learning principles to promote individual or group mastery of competencies and conveys clinical principles accurately and concisely in classroom and clinical settings.
6. *Creates rapport with students to provide safe, constructive feedback and remediation to students of all levels.
7. *Demonstrates leadership and creates a positive learning environment by exhibiting the Bryan Beliefs and Core Values.
8. Completes all required training within the set timelines.
9. Utilizes Learning Management System to record course participation.
10. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
11. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
12. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of Bryan education and training policies and processes.
2. Knowledge of adult learning principles and diverse teaching strategies.
3. Knowledge of clinical theory and application.
4. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
5. Skill in presenting to audiences of all levels of the organization.
6. Skill in the operation of instructional media and communication/information devices.
7. Skill in time and classroom management.
8. Ability to coach nursing or respiratory therapy skills in a hospital learning environment.
9. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
10. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers at all levels of the organization.
11. Ability to coach and mentor employees.
12. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, medical staff and students.
13. Ability to manage required training equipment and room set-ups as needed.
14. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.
15. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
16. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Current RN licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a clinical setting required. Prior experience leading and/or planning clinical education programs desired. Experience as a preceptor, team lead or trainer is highly preferred. Prior training and experience as a BLS, ACLS and/or PALS instructor preferred.
OR
Current Respiratory Therapist licensure from the State of Nebraska required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a clinical setting required. Prior experience leading and/or planning clinical education programs desired. Experience as a preceptor, team lead or trainer is highly preferred. Prior training and experience as a BLS, ACLS and/or PALS instructor preferred.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Successful completion of assigned ECC instructor course that meets American Heart Association guidelines required within six (6) months of hire. Successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Course, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Course, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Course required within six (6) months of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
