SUMMARY
The Director of Engineering oversees and directs engineering to meet or exceed customer and project requirements and company objectives. This role manages all engineering-related and other technical operations, including developing and establishing departmental goals and strategies. This role drives sales growth and profitability by constantly improving the organization's engineering capabilities and efficiencies.

JOB DUTIES
  • Provides technical leadership to engineering areas.
  • Organizes and leads all engineering activities and projects, ensuring alignment with established policies and objectives.
  • Discusses and negotiates contract terms and conditions with vendors and clients.
  • Recruits and trains top engineering talent.
  • Develops and implements engineering best practices and processes.
  • Prepares and presents annual budgets and plans.
  • Establishes key performance indicators and reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and ten (10) or more years of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Promotes outstanding service to all levels of customer, both internal and external.
  • Displays willingness and ability to make critical decisions that are appropriate and effective for the department.
  • Ability to work within all levels of the business, from senior management on through the organization.
