Job Description

Lyntris is a defense technology company that connects sensing to action across the connected battlespace. Lyntris brings together the talents of Accelint and Vitesse teams under one mission, with each contributing deep expertise within their domain. Combining differentiated hardware, software and mission expertise, Lyntris helps customers sense threats, make sense of complex conditions and act with greater speed, precision and confidence in contested environments.

Lyntris supports U.S. and allied defense organizations across every branch — including Navy, Army, Air Force, Space Force and allied partners — spanning strategic, operational and tactical missions and every domain: Space, Air, Land, Sea and Cyber. With more than 200 active defense programs, Lyntris works at every level of the mission, from national command authority to the tactical edge.

Solutions are designed by operators who understand the mission, engineered for the conditions that degrade or defeat standard systems, and built on an open, modular architecture that integrates into existing programs without requiring them to start over. Lyntris moves faster than the traditional defense cycle — with integrated design, build and test capabilities in-house — and delivers systems that sustain and endure long after initial fielding.

Job Description

  • Engineering Project Manager, Sensors

The Engineering Project Manager, Sensors leads day-to-day execution of assigned engineering projects or defined work packages within the Sensors portfolio. The role supports hardware-intensive radar and sensor development, modernization, integration, test, production transition, and field delivery activities. Operating within authority delegated by the Director of Sensors, or designated Deputy Program Manager, this position drives execution against approved technical scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer commitments.

This is a hands-on, mid-level project management position for an engineering-trained professional who can translate complex technical activity into executable plans, meaningful performance measures, and timely decisions. The position coordinates multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, program controls, manufacturing, quality, security, and customers; maintains disciplined plans and records; and resolves execution obstacles before they threaten delivery.

The incumbent may independently manage an assigned project within defined limits, but does not assume the Program Manager's total program authority or the Chief Engineer's technical approval authority. Contractual commitments, funding changes, material scope adjustments, technical baseline approvals, and personnel actions outside the written delegation must be elevated to the appropriate accountable leader or functional authority.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Planning, Scheduling, and Execution Control

  • Develop, maintain, and update project plans and schedules using Microsoft Project, including tracking tasks, dependencies, milestones, resources, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with project teams to monitor progress, identify potential delays, and communicate schedule changes or concerns to project leadership.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings, maintain action item trackers, document key decisions, and follow up on assigned tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor project activities against established scope, schedules, and deliverables; identify variances and recommend adjustments to keep projects on track.

Radar Engineering and Product Lifecycle Coordination

  • Coordinate project activities across engineering disciplines, including systems, RF, electrical, hardware, software, firmware, mechanical, integration and test, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical leads to track project requirements, technical deliverables, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Support the planning and coordination of design reviews, testing activities, integration events, customer demonstrations, and other key project milestones.
  • Track prototype development, engineering releases, material availability, supplier deliveries, and testing schedules; identify and communicate potential issues affecting project execution.

Risk, Quality, and Change Management

  • Identify, document, and track project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation activities, escalating concerns to project leadership as appropriate.
  • Support coordination of engineering changes, configuration management activities, corrective actions, and applicable quality processes.
  • Participate in project reviews and lessons-learned discussions to identify opportunities for improving project execution and addressing recurring challenges.

Resources, Financial Performance, and Supplier Integration

  • Coordinate project resource requirements, including labor, equipment, materials, and technical support, in collaboration with functional managers and project leadership.
  • Support project budget monitoring by tracking expenditures, reviewing cost and schedule variances, and assisting with financial reporting and forecasting activities.
  • Monitor procurement activities, supplier deliverables, subcontractor schedules, and material availability to identify potential impacts on project timelines.

Customer Interface, Reporting, and Delegated Representation

  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned project activities, coordinating communication among internal teams, project leadership, customers, and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain project status reports, schedule updates, milestone trackers, risk summaries, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate customer meetings, technical discussions, project reviews, and deliverable submissions, ensuring commitments and significant changes are communicated through appropriate project leadership.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with engineering teams, government customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support successful project execution.

Operational Improvement and Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify responsibilities, coordinate project activities, and support timely completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to project scheduling, reporting, documentation, and communication processes to enhance project efficiency and consistency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution; electrical, systems, mechanical, computer, or aerospace engineering strongly aligned to the role. An engineering degree is mandatory for this position.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in engineering project execution or project/program management, including progressively responsible coordination of multidisciplinary technical work.
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in good standing, or equivalent AWF Functional Area Certification.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Project, including integrated schedule development, predecessor/successor logic, critical-path analysis, baseline and variance management, resource loading, and status reporting.
  • Experience developing and maintaining work breakdown structures, schedules, action trackers, risk registers, resource forecasts, milestone plans, and project performance reports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex engineered-product lifecycles, including requirements, design, integration, verification, test, production readiness, and delivery.
  • Ability to coordinate engineers and technical contributors across organizational boundaries, identify and communicate risks early, and deliver results within approved scope and delegated authority.
  • Sound working knowledge of project cost and resource management, including planned-versus-actual tracking, estimate-to-complete inputs, schedule and budget variance reporting, and change control.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, prioritization, follow-through, and written, verbal, and executive-presentation skills.
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and collaborative document-management systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Availability to travel up to 50 percent and work periodically at customer, integration, supplier, laboratory, and test locations.

  • Experience coordinating long-lead hardware, material availability, supplier/subcontractor performance, configuration management, engineering changes, and manufacturing or integration schedules.
  • Working knowledge of integrated master scheduling, earned value concepts, Control Account Management, and schedule/cost performance measures as applicable to program requirements.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, or other collaboration, engineering delivery, and data-visualization tools.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, low-rate production, field integration, test-range activity, mission-system deployment, or product sustainment.
  • Active-duty military experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel and move through office, engineering laboratory, manufacturing, integration, government facility, and test-site environments, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May require compliance with site-specific access procedures, use of required personal protective equipment, and work in industrial or outdoor testing environments.
  • May require work outside standard business hours to support customer events, supplier activities, integration, testing, travel, or critical project milestones.
