About This Position

Position Overview:

Kolar Tire & Auto is seeking a dedicated and reliable OTR Tire Technician with at least 2 years experience to join our team. As an OTR Tire Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and OTR tires, including those used in construction and other heavy-duty industries. Key Responsibilities:
-Tire Installation & Repair: Mount, dismount, and repair commercial and OTR tires sizes and types.

-Inspection & Maintenance: Inspect tires for damage, wear, and proper inflation to ensure optimal performance and safety.

-Troubleshooting: Diagnose and identify tire issues, including cuts, punctures, and bead damage.

-Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and industry safety standards, ensuring that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.

-Familiar with one piece, three piece and 5 piece wheels

-Familiar with loaders, scrappers, blades, and all construction equipment

-Customer Service: Provide high-quality service to clients by addressing their needs and offering advice on tire maintenance and replacement.

-On-Site Work: Perform duties both in-shop and at various off-site locations, including construction sites.

-Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed and inventory levels.

Qualifications:

-Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in OTR tire maintenance and repair.

-Certifications: Relevant certifications (such as TIA) are preferred but not required.

-Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy tires (up to 100 lbs), work in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods.

-Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of tire-changing equipment and hand tools.

-Driver's License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus).

-Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and personal protective equipment.

-Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements:

-Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs

-Standing, bending, and moving for extended periods of time

-Ability to work in varying weather conditions
