CNC Machinist at Zumbrota Drivetrain – Zumbrota, Minnesota

Description Summary:

The Primary Function of this position is CNC Machining and Lathe work on daily production parts and ongoing projects within our Machine Shop.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Get Direction from Supervisor on priority of work.
• Running Precision Parts on HAAS CNC Vertical Machining Centers.
• Communicate with other Machinist on daily tasks and projects.
• Setting up CNC Machines with correct tooling and fixtures when needed for each specific job.
• Operating CNC Machines, Manual Lathes, Manual Mills and other Equipment as needed.
• Capable of creating CNC Programming on Machines.
• Have the knowledge to resolve issues with machines and monitor tool wear, programming errors etc.
• Performing in process inspection/deburring of parts throughout shift.
• Applicant must be able to interpret technical drawings and capable of using precision Measuring Tools.
• Be familiar with reverse engineering.
• Must have troubleshooting Skills and be capable of diagnosing Malfunctions.
• Basic knowledge of math and geometry is essential for understanding tolerances.
• Experience with CMM machines is also preferred.
• Communicate Professionally with Coworkers and Management.
• Wearing proper PPE and ensuring safe work area at all times.
• Ability to be self-motivated.
• Must be able to adapt to a changing environment.
• Work with R&D Department on projects and Components.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 Years of CNC machining experience with Set-up experience.
• Strong knowledge of material (e.g., Cast iron, aluminum, Magnesium)
• Proficient in blueprint reading and mechanical knowledge.
• Computer Skills
• Strong team player
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Standing for 8-hour shifts
• High school diploma or equivalent
