About This Position
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position, under the direction of the Director Regulatory & IP, is to work cooperatively with chapter leaders and the regulatory team to assist with continual readiness for regulatory surveys and provide support to meet requirements.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of this position, under the direction of the Director Regulatory and Infection Control, is to assist with continual readiness for regulatory surveys and provide support to all departments, managers, and nursing staff for patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications are as follows:
- Registered nurse licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.
- BSN preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Three to five years clinical nursing experience.
- American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support(BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement(RQI) required
Hours of coverage vary; straight days, flex as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
- Performs real-time documentation coaching during rounds.
- Performs regulatory spot check audits as needed:

- Clinical record audits
- Environmental audits
- Focused audits
- Rounding with leaders
- Orientation, onboarding, and annual competency training:
- SI
- Companion Care
- Documentation
- Restraints
- Participation during regulatory surveys.
- Monitors, educates, and develops policies to support The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals
- Monitors Sentinel Event Alerts, performs gap analysis, and coordinates follow up to meet recommended actions.
- Monitors and reports activity on The Joint Commission website.
- Data review, organization, reporting of trends.
- Remains abreast of current trends in the field by reviewing literature and participating in research activities.
- Support leaders on OneNote, standards, and documentation requirements.
- Maintains annual mandatory training requirements.
- Collaborates in Quality Improvement activities.
- Enters surveillance data as directed.
- Scheduling.
- Kronos.
- Tracers at AH and at off-site locations.
- Work with managers for plan of correction (POC).
- Review and update department required education and competency.
- New Provider orientation.
- Participate in committees:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work eight hours a day. This unit may require 24/7 coverage.
- Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation as needed.
- Work weekends and holidays assigned. Every other weekend and two holidays a year, in a group rotation.
- Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage.
