About This Position
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager with 5+ years of property management accounting experience to oversee tenant billing, collections, and cash applications for our commercial, retail, and hospitality real estate portfolio. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate tenant ledgers, ensuring timely collections, and optimizing AR processes. Proficiency in MRI accounting software is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- AR Oversight: Manage the full-cycle accounts receivable process, including tenant invoicing, collections, and cash applications.
- Tenant Billing & Collections: Ensure accurate and timely billing, follow up on outstanding balances, and implement strategies to reduce delinquency rates.
- Lease Compliance: Work with property managers to ensure tenant charges align with lease agreements and escalate disputes when necessary.
- Cash Application & Reconciliation: Oversee daily cash receipts, apply payments to tenant accounts, and reconcile AR balances.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate AR aging reports, monitor outstanding balances, and provide recommendations to improve cash flow.
- System Management: Utilize MRI accounting software to manage tenant accounts and financial reporting.
- Collaboration: Partner with property managers, AP managers, and financial controllers to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of accounts receivable experience in the real estate/property management industry.
- Strong proficiency in MRI accounting software (minimum three years).
- Knowledge of GAAP, AR workflows, and lease compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
