Avid is seeking a Director of Revenue Cycle Management to join our Corporate team. This position will be hybrid - work from home with some in office requirements. This position is available immediately!

The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for leading and overseeing the billing, collections, and reimbursement cycle for the organization. This leadership role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition and cash collections. This individual will leverage their strategic experience and extensive knowledge of RCM best practices, as well as a deep understanding of federal and state payer requirements to maintain a strong cash stance for the company.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, including intake eligibility verification, authorization, billing, posting payments, claims follow-up, denials management, and collections.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that optimize billing workflows and reduce claim denials and rework.
  • Ensure compliance with payer requirements, including Medicaid and managed Medicaid plans, and stay current with regulatory updates and changes.
  • Analyze KPIs; prepare regular reports on cash collections, denials and outstanding A/R for executive leadership.
  • Partner with clinical and administrative departments to ensure documentation supports billing and compliance requirements.
  • Manage relationships with clearinghouses, payers, and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Lead internal audits to ensure data integrity and adherence to funder guidelines.
  • Supervise and maintain accountability for all staff within the RCM department.
  • Maintain and enforce a documented system of RCM policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in health administration, Finance, Business, or related field. A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in revenue cycle management in home health care or related field, with at least 3 years of managerial experience in a hands-on Medicaid billing and collection role.

Travel: Will be expected to travel as needed to company branch locations, as well as to potential acquirees to conduct due diligence.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, HIPAA, and Medicaid billing rules across multiple states.
  • Experience with EMR and billing systems specific to home health (e.g., AlayaCare, WellSky, Homecare Homebase, MatrixCare).
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing RCM teams.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Strong numerical proficiency, organization, good problem-solving skills, and excellent use of logic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a big-picture method to approach tasks.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
