Senior Structures Engineer at Power Systems MFG LLC – Jupiter, Florida

LOCATION: Jupiter, FL

STATUS: Salary Exempt

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Analyze Industrial Gas Turbine Engine component designs to ensure parts maintain appropriate stress levels, meets life requirements and design criteria.
• Utilize appropriate analysis/design tools, such as ANSYS/Abaqus, Microsoft Excel, ProEngineer or similar.
• Support the continued development and oversee the adherence to PSM technical reviews, engineering changes and field validation plans and verification.
• Assess needs and identify critical path schedules for design, manufacturing and procurement activities.

• Create, lead and/or deliver presentations to internal and external clients.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix

• 2+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and manufacturing gas turbine engine components and/or large rotating components. Combination of education, experience and research work will be considered.
• Strong analytical decision-making and organizational skills are required.
• Experience with FEA software desired (ANSYS or Abaqus).
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, general machining and fabrication techniques is preferred.
• Familiar with vibration and dynamics analysis of rotating structures.
• Familiar with advanced FEM modeling techniques such as nonlinearity, contact, and creep.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to perform hands-on fieldwork is strongly desired.
• Travel is required on an as needed basis.
