Key Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Low Voltage Cabling Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems. This role supports commercial and industrial projects involving data, voice, security, and audiovisual systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coax)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
- Install cable pathways including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and sleeves
- Perform cable testing using certification tools (Fluke or equivalent)
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service work
- Ensure all work meets industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and company quality expectations
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades on job sites
- 1–3+ years of experience in low voltage cabling or related field
- Knowledge of structured cabling systems and installation practices
- Experience terminating RJ45 jacks, patch panels, and fiber (preferred)
- Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with cable testing and certification equipment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces
- Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods
- BICSI certification (Installer or Technician)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with access control, CCTV, or VoIP systems
- Construction sites, commercial buildings, and office environments
- May require travel to job sites
- Occasional evening or weekend work based on project needs
