About This Position

Reports to the Director, Medical Residency Program. In collaboration with the medical directors, oversees the day to day operations of Graduate Medical Education Program. Assumes responsibility for the development and operation of the programs. Ensures optimal delivery of patient care, effective program development and administration, appropriate intra- and interdepartmental relations and acts as a community/physician liaison in regard to the programs. Serves as a resource for departments, organization and community.

Oversees Graduate Medical Education Program by:

Maintaining AAAHC Accreditation for BMG EBW endoscopy suite.

  • Facilitate quarterly provider and staff meetings.
  • Update policies.
  • Provider credentialing.
  • Staff training as required by AAAHC.
  • Complete application and all associated documentation for site visits.
  • Strive for 3-year accreditation.
  • Review appropriateness of additional service lines for BMG.

Assisting BMG Physician Recruiter with Primary Care recruitment with emphasis on residency retention.

  • Work collaboratively with BMG leadership and recruitment leadership on optimal primary care needs within BMG.
  • Strategize recruitment efforts within the first year of family medicine residency and provide ongoing opportunities for BMG exposure throughout a physicians� entire residency/fellowship career.

Street Medicine Project Lead

  • Vet non-physician volunteers.
  • Assist physician lead with outreach efforts to include volunteers.
  • Organize and facilitate use of shared vehicle.
  • Assist with future grant opportunities.

Beacon Baby Buggy Project Lead

  • Organize and facilitate use of shared vehicle.
  • Liaison between EBW and BCI.
  • Assist with grant opportunities and grant writing.
  • Maintain logs, licenses, and maintenance of shared vehicle for compliance with BCI contract.

OB Fellowship

  • Assist with interview scheduling, credentialing and onboarding.
  • Work with finance and facilitate billing opportunities to ensure providers are billing appropriately from the beginning.

Refugees

  • Continue as liaison with ISDOH and resettlement agencies.
  • Attend virtual meetings as required.
  • Assist with ITARA database.

OB Education Grant Project Lead

  • Continue facilitating OB education grant with physician lead and monthly reporting requirements through grant cycle which ends on 12/31/2024.
  • Assist physician lead with JCB Fellowship.

Assist with clinic scheduling in NI

Continue reassignment of residency patients

Practice Manager for Residency Program

Train/Mentor EBW Group Practice Manager

Assist resident lead with Reach Out and Read

Continue Kerrie Kares fundraising and disbursement of bags.

Work with Program Director and BMG on appropriateness of FQHC status or partnership with Healthlinc.

Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:

  • Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
  • Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
  • Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
  • Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
  • Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
  • Complies with established organization and department policies.
  • Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor�s degree in health-related field, Human Resources, or similar required. A minimum of 5 years managing a team in an academic setting is desired. Strong leadership, and attention to detail is a must along with verbal and written professional communication skills. C-TAGME certification preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Requires a working knowledge of general medical and administrative office methods, practices and procedures.
  • Requires a working administrative knowledge of medical and allied health education.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic computer skills (i.e., data entry, word processing and spreadsheets). An understanding of database applications and financial applications is desired.
  • Demonstrates the strong leadership skills necessary to gain the cooperation and support from the staff and faculty.
  • Requires the organization and analytical skills necessary to analyze situations/problems and provide timely resolution and work effectively with day-to-day problems.
  • Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to deal effectively with a diverse group of people and provide clear and effective explanations.
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in the ongoing development of one's leadership skills and also the desire to participate in management development activities.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a patient care environment and office environment.
  • May be exposed to bio-hazards.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e. to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time, push carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, to position/lift patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted, over 35 pounds requires assistance, provide CPR, etc.) to perform the essential functions of the position.
