Position Summary

Working in the Division of Ambulatory and Physician Services, the Financial Analyst will support a growing ambulatory practice. The incumbent will be responsible for performing various financial analysis and variance explanations on practices and physicians. The position will collaborate with several members of the WPPA finance team and will report to the Assistant Vice President of Finance. Experience working in healthcare/hospital is highly preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

  • Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of various financial analyses and reports used to forecast revenues and expenses.
  • Under the supervision of the AVP, participate in the annual budget, month end and year end close process.
  • Prepares and disseminate monthly and quarterly physician and practice dashboard to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and perform ad-hoc financial analyses of new initiatives including business planning and cost benefit analysis.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to contribute to team success, develop collaborative relationships with an orientation towards quality, and able to work independently as necessary.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Education & Experience Requirements

    • Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred.
    • Prior healthcare experience preferred.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to use graphs, tables, use spreadsheets efficiently and perform calculations and automation to process large data sets.
    • Prior experience with Power B1 and/or Tableu preferred.

    Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment

    • Ability to remain stationary position for 90% of the time.
    • Constantly utilizes/operates computer to access information.
    • Constantly scans documents from computer and other scanning locations.
    • Ability to communicate to hospital employees regarding requests for information.
    • May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
