Job Description
In addition to performing procedures as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, the lead acts as a principal radiologic technologist overseeing the technical operations required for the performance of routine and advanced procedures. This individual reviews and updates procedure manuals and protocols, assists with scheduling interventional exams, maintains the interventional technologist schedule, assists in staff education, maintains competencies and training, ensures daily quality controls, and assists in quality improvement projects within the department.
Minimum Education
- Must have completed an approved and accredited Radiology Technology program
- 2 Years’ experience as Vascular Interventional Radiology Tech
Minimum Work Experience
- Recent, up to one year, hospital related experience
- Digital Imaging and post processing PACS experience
- Experience with portable and in-department fluoroscopy procedures
- Operating Room procedures
- Experience in Special Procedures preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Current state R.T. license.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association
- ARRT Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification preferred.
- CPI Certification.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge and ability to provide care based on physical and psychosocial development and safety issues related to patients of all age groups, including infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & listening).
- Willingness and ability to identify and take action toward meeting own learning needs.
- Advanced knowledge of Angio/Cath room functions.
- Ability to plan and perform diversified duties requiring knowledge of a wide range of procedures.
- Ability to understand medical/surgical terminology.
- Ability to demonstrate courtesy, compassion and respect in relating to patients, families, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
- Knowledge of basic medical equipment (i.e. Oxygen Tank, pulse oximeter, EKG Machines, etc)
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and budgeting practices.
- Microsoft desktop application skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Superior communication skills (written, verbal & listening) in order to effectively relay information both up and down the chain of command.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance principles
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stress and conflicting priorities.
- Strong knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, set goals and objectives for review and evaluation
Pay Range = $31.71 - $46.88
