About This Position

Summary/ Objectives: To give excellent and courteous service to our customers by maintaining a safe and enjoyable guest experience during the operational hours of the hotel’s water slide. Know the rules and regulations as outlined by the hotel’s “release of liability and indemnity agreement” waiver.

Essential Functions:

  1. Lifeguard will be well-groomed, wear lifeguard shirt provided and wear name tag.
  2. Enforce all pool regulations and water safety policies.
  3. Ensure that registered guests’ children, between the ages of six and eighteen, are given a wristband allowing them to use the water slide. The wristband signifies a parent or guardian has properly filled out and signed the hotel’s “release of liability” waiver.
  4. Alertly supervise the water slide, observing that all special rules pertaining to the water slide are being followed.
  5. If guests become unruly or argumentative, lifeguard will notify the Manager on Duty, who will take care of the situation.
  6. Lifeguard must routinely clean the pool area by picking up towels or any trash, and keeping tables and chairs in order. Lifeguard must make sure there are clean pool towels readily available for guests.
  7. Lifeguard must regularly check the public restroom in the pool area, and immediately notify the front desk/houseperson for any cleaning needs.
  8. Lifeguard is responsible for turning off the water slide and locking the water slide gate at the end of his/her shift.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Minimum Requirements:

    Education Requirements:

    1. Must possess a valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate and American Red Cross First Aid Certificate or become certified within 30 days of employment.
    2. Must be certified in American Red Cross Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), for the Professional Rescuer or become certified within 30 days of employment.
