Patient Care Technician (PCT)

The key duties of this position are a vital link to efficient, well–organized operations on the patient care units. As a valued member of the healthcare team, this individual will:

• Communicate effectively
• Demonstrate Flexibility
• Perform Clerical or patient care duties
• Assist with routine basic patient care
• Takes vital signs
• Assist with patient with personal hygiene
• Ambulates patients
• Skilled in communication and public relations
• Performs physically, mentally and emotionally demanding work.
• Works with sick and dying patients, infectious disease, hazardous materials, fluids and hazardous chemicals.
• Follows direction from the immediate nurse in charge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Nursing student
• Nursing assistant experience in another health care facility
• BLS certified

CNA or Certified Nursing Assistant License not required.
