Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs duties required for the effective management of activities related to the maintenance, minor construction and renovation of University Health buildings, operating equipment and machinery. Procures and manages the work of outside venders. Manages Health System personnel including but not limited to painters, plumbers, carpenters, maintenance workers, multi-skilled maintenance specialists, and electricians, including all Plant Engineering personnel at all satellite facilities. Complies with UH and departmental policies and procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Two years of college courses in pre-engineering are required. Maybe substitute maintenance or construction supervisory experience for college on a year-for-year basis. A degree in engineering is preferred. A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in maintenance or construction is required. May substitute college (engineering) on a year-for-year basis. Five to seven years of supervisory experience in maintenance or construction is preferred.
