OverviewWe at Benny are building software infrastructure to make it easier for the 1 in 8 Americans receiving SNAP dollars (i.e., food stamps) to manage, spend, and earn rewards on their government benefits. We recently launched our consumer mobile application and plan to hire a founding Android Engineer to own its future development.
How We BuildOur engineering philosophy is to leverage the best tools and technologies, allowing us to focus on solving differentiated hard problems. As the Founding Android Engineer, you'll define these tools. Some technologies we use that we are particularly impressed with and currently leverage are:

• Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform UI (our Android app is our iOS app)
• Cash App's Molecule and SQLDelight
• Ktor server and all things Kotlin (if interested, you can contribute to our Ktor Server backend)

TeamWe're a small (five-person and growing) New York-based team with an outsized impact. Our engineers have worked at Cash App, Brex, Affirm, Plaid, Uber, and other fintech companies. Our investors include Matrix Partners, Able Partners, New York State's venture fund, and notable fintech angel investors.

• At least three years of Android development experience

CompensationThe annual salary for this role is $180,000, along with a top-of-market equity award. Company-sponsored health, dental, and vision plans are provided, as are FSA/HSA and commuter benefits.
