Position Summary for the Cycle Counter

Sugar Foods operates food manufacturing, packaging, and distribution facilities to serve over 5,000 customers. The stability of our processes and the consistency and quality of our products are vital to the delivery of our promise to our customers. The Inventory Cycle Counter is a critical member of our team. This core, year-round position responsible for counting components and finished goods inventory, at ground and elevated levels for raw material and production areas. This function serves as both a measure and corrective action for maintaining high inventory record accuracy (99%).

Job Responsibilities of the Cycle Counter

Primary Responsibilities

• Routinely cycle count inventory by following Warehouse Management System (WMS) tasks and lists.
• Use RF gun/scanner to input [counting] data into Warehouse Management System.
• Accurately count and verify Handling Unit (HU) quantities and batches.
• “Search and Rescue" lost product.
• Operate Forklift, reach lift, and/or stock picker to execute core function of the job.
• Assist in product rotation and retrieval for consolidation to minimize storage needs.
• Works effectively both independently and as a team member.
• Be aware of surroundings for possible safety hazards and alert co-workers and supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned – Preparing reports such as inventory balances, weekly cycle counts and production breakdowns.
• Reviewing and investigating daily reports directed by the Lead Auditor.

• Be proactive in understanding and rectifying challenges
• Be a gatekeeper in identifying potential risks vs smaller issues

Qualifications/Requirements

• Knowledge of manufacturing GMPs, and SOPs Education - High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6-12 months experience using inventory scanning Radio Frequency (RF) equipment preferable.
• Forklift, reach lift, and/or stock picker experience required.
• Basic counting and math skills required (able to count accurately as well as add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words.
• Basic clerical skills required (reading, writing, typing and spelling).
