Accounting Supervisor at Helm – Owings Mills, Maryland

Target Marketing Group, a Helm company, is seeking a talented mid-level Accounting Supervisor to join our growing small business. This position will oversee our accounting department’s daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department

· Ensure the general ledger for all entities is maintained in full GAAP compliance.

• Participate in regular tax audits
• Prepare timely reports as agreed by the company with our clients
• Manage month-end and year-end closing within a team environment
• Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
• Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
• Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with company’s targets
• Manage accounting software and provide recommendations for changes to software that should be reviewed
• Perform general duties to support the accounting department

Education/Experience:

Must have bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of progressively growing accounting responsibilities, including a minimum of 4 years of management of accounting staff required. CPA and public accounting experience a plus. Demonstrated experience of Great Plains accounting software is a plus. Strong Microsoft Excel skills mandatory.
