Job Description

BRIEF SUMMARY: Performs echocardiograph procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Prepares and instructs patients for echocardiography.
Performs echocardiography, obtains necessary images.
Prepares reports for interpretation by the cardiologist.
Reviews medical record to identify any significant medical history which may impact the study.
Reviews echocardiogram data and may confer with appropriate medical personnel.
Maintains logs of all procedures.
Maintains supplies.
Performs echocardiograms procedures with minimum supervision.
Keeps informed of advances in echocardiography through reading current literature and continuing education.
Performs other related functions as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

1. Must maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

SCHEDULING AND AVAILABILITY: Routinely scheduled Mon-Fri 0700-1530 except holidays and vacations. On-Call 7 days per week 0700-1900 with a 4 hr response time.
