Job Summary
The Deputy Civil Manager is responsible for managing the Civil Division's Deputy Clerk's and their workloads in the Clerk of Courts Office.
Essential Functions

Supervises the Deputy Clerk's by assigning and monitoring all their work. Provides direction, technical assistance and training as needed.
Manages caseload for assigned court division. Monitors cash flow and corresponding financial accounts, probation, bond forfeitures, cash bonds, adjustments, and end of the day reports.
Assist in supervising and maintaining automated database, bookkeeping procedures, and other related systems.
Prepares, reviews, and maintains real estate related documents, forms, and manuals. Oversees the jury summons and selection processes.
Oversees the Passport Unit and its application process.
Ensures there is compliance with statutory, regulatory, and local court procedures.
Prepares a variety of written correspondence including financial reports, memorandums, notices, and letters.
Receive and respond to inquiries from the public, attorneys, judges and other county employees, in-person, by phone, or by computer.
Responsible for overseeing the E-filing and Odyssey Navigator system.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of County and Clerk's Office policies and procedures. Skill in the use and maintenance of modern office equipment.
Skill in computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Skill in creating and analyzing reports and presentations.
Skill in using independent judgment, discretion, and conflict management. Ability to identify and document office needs.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, proper utilization of grammar and punctuation.
Ability to discern, maintain and disseminate confidential information as appropriate. Ongoing development and maintenance of work-related skills.
Ability to effectively manage a variety of complex tasks under pressure, within budget, and meeting deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, County Officials, department heads, representatives from other agencies, and public to provide positive outcomes.
Working Conditions
Typically performed in an office with occasional field visits.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Five (5) years progressively responsible experience with at least two (2) years supervisory experience.
- Three (3) years' experience in the judicial system.
- OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to numbers #1, #2, and #3 above.
- Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License
