Job Description
The Packaging and Crating 2nd Shift Manager is responsible for driving the execution and completion of all assigned work orders during 2nd shift operations. This role focuses on ensuring customer orders are fulfilled efficiently, prioritizing next-day delivery requirements, and maintaining workflow continuity between shifts.
Primary Responsibilities
Operational Execution & Customer Satisfaction
• Drive high-volume customer orders to completion during 2nd shift operations
• Prioritize and execute next-day delivery orders
• Allocate team resources to complete daily packaging and crating requirements
• Execute work orders efficiently and delegate tasks for timely completion
• Support packaging, crating, loading/unloading, inspection, assembly, and packing activities
• Respond to urgent requests and ensure timely completion
• Maintain productivity and operational efficiency
• Support shipping deadlines and next-day delivery readiness
Workflow Management & Shift Coordination
• Manage workflow and labor allocation during 2nd shift
• Coordinate with 1st shift leadership for continuity
• Focus on completion of work initiated during 1st shift
• Identify bottlenecks and implement real-time solutions
• Communicate priorities clearly with team members
Employee Leadership & Development
• Lead, direct, and motivate team members
• Provide coaching and feedback
• Communicate errors and implement corrective actions
• Escalate recurring issues with recommendations
• Promote accountability and a positive culture
Safety
• Promote and enforce safety culture
• Identify and mitigate hazards
• Report incidents, near misses, and injuries
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure work meets quality standards
• Maintain adherence to operational procedures
• Support audits and compliance
• Report customer concerns and support resolution
Requirements:Education: 2-year degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in warehouse, production, or operations environment.
