Position Information
The full salary range for the Electrical Maintenance Services Supervisor is $84,100.00 - $154,700.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $140,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.The Electrical Maintenance Services Supervisor oversees the Electrical skilled trades and staff under the Maintenance Services unit of Facilities Services. Oversees work and projects requiring skilled electrical and high voltage maintenance, construction, retrofit, repair, and tenant improvements throughout the campus community. Supervises the maintenance, repair, installation or modification of industrial electrical systems; oversees the maintenance and operation of the campus primary and secondary distribution systems. Develops and monitors a preventative maintenance program. Manages clear and accurate documentation of all inspections, testing and maintenance performed. Provides direct supervision to trade staff: assigns and directs daily work assignments; reviews work for quality and completion; monitors work orders and closes out completed work orders. Coordinates utility shut downs; ensures communication and notices are provided to impacted customers and minimizes impact to customers. Reviews plans, specifications, and requisitions for projects to establish daily, weekly, and long-range work schedules. Obtains and maintains stock inventory of parts, materials and equipment necessary for timely completion of projects. Coordinates, facilitates and monitors, safety and technical, training programs. Ensures safety procedures are followed and maintained. Promotes and maintains a strong customer service focused environment and cooperative teamwork philosophy in the unit. Responsible for daily operational administration and personnel management, including staffing, hiring, training, disciplinary action, termination, and performance management. Maintains knowledge of building and safety codes, hazardous material handling and disposal, and labor contracts. Provides operational support to other Facilities Services units, as necessary.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. | Solid knowledge and experience in the operation, maintenance, repair and construction of electrical systems, including motor controls, motors, electrical distribution systems (12kV and 4kV), interior and exterior lighting and associated control systems, and emergency generators. |
| Knowledge of uniform State and Federal Electrical Codes, OSHA Safety Regulations, NFPA 70B & 70E, NETA and any other related low and high voltage safety regulations. |
| Solid financial skills to accurately project costs of potential jobs and to consistently complete work within established budgetary and time constraints. |
| Ability to utilize test equipment common to low and high voltage systems, and analyze the results of tests to determine proper maintenance or repair to electrical systems. |
