INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Freeman Corporation is a large, family-owned wood veneer manufacturer based in Winchester, KY. We continue to invest heavily to be the supplier of choice to the top producers worldwide of flooring, doors, hardwood plywood, furniture, cabinets, and other industries. We employ approximately 200 people across three shifts at this facility.
Position Summary
The Freeman Corporation is seeking an experienced and dependable Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining industrial equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient plant operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working in industrial manufacturing environments, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates with strong diagnostic abilities, preventative maintenance experience, and a safety-first mindset are highly encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial manufacturing equipment and production machineryPerform preventative maintenance (PMs) and predictive maintenance activitiesDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and conveyor system issuesRepair and maintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, pumps, valves, and power transmission systemsPerform welding, fabrication, cutting, and general mechanical repairs as neededRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawingsAssist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvement projectsMaintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS systemSupport plant safety initiatives and follow all OSHA and company safety policiesRespond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situationsMaintain good housekeeping and organization within maintenance areasWork closely with production personnel to minimize downtime and improve reliability
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical troubleshooting skillsExperience with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsBasic electrical troubleshooting experience in industrial environmentsAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, torches, welders, and diagnostic equipmentAbility to read mechanical and electrical schematicsStrong attendance and reliabilityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial conditions including heat, dust, noise, and heights
Preferred
- Experience in wood products, veneer, sawmill, or heavy industrial manufacturingWelding and fabrication experienceExperience with conveyors, boilers, dryers, presses, or rotating equipmentForklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift experienceFamiliarity with CMMS systems such as MaintainX, SAP, Fiix, or Maximo
Knowledge & Skills
The ideal candidate should possess knowledge or experience in:

This is a 1st Shift position, intended for experienced industrial maintenance professionals who can contribute immediately to plant reliability, equipment uptime, and continuous improvement efforts. Compensation will be determined based on experience, certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications.
