Position Title: Product Engineer / Product Engineering Manager

Location: Summerville, South Carolina

Description: HTI is seeking a Product Engineer / Product Engineering Manager for a leading manufacturer in Summerville, SC. This position supports highly engineered products serving defense, aerospace, naval, and industrial markets. The organization is open to hiring at either the Product Engineer or Product Engineering Manager level based on a candidate’s technical expertise, leadership experience, and overall qualifications.
This role will support products throughout the full product lifecycle—from product introduction and manufacturing readiness through production support, validation, customer delivery, and continuous product improvement. Candidates with experience supporting complex engineered products, rotating equipment, turbines, aerospace systems, or defense-related products are strongly encouraged to apply.
This is a Direct Hire opportunity. The pay range is $99,000 - $174,000 depending on experience and level.

What You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of engineering experience supporting complex engineered products within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with product lifecycle management, product improvements, manufacturing readiness, and cross-functional product support
  • Experience with highly engineered mechanical systems, including turbines, rotating equipment, aerospace, defense, naval, or industrial products
  • Strong understanding of product validation, testing, quality, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, and Operations teams
  • NX Modeling experience preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances
Additional Qualifications for Product Engineering Manager Consideration:
  • Previous engineering leadership or people management experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and product initiatives
  • Strong background in resource planning, cost management, and project execution
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Proven ability to mentor, develop, and lead engineering personnel

What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Product Engineer / Product Engineering Manager will support engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle while ensuring products meet customer requirements, performance expectations, quality standards, and business objectives. Depending on experience and level, this individual may serve as a technical contributor, team leader, or manager responsible for product engineering strategy and execution.
Product Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Support products throughout the full product lifecycle from introduction through production and customer delivery
  • Evaluate and implement product improvements that enhance quality, reliability, manufacturability, and performance
  • Support manufacturing readiness and product launch activities
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, and Operations teams
  • Investigate and resolve product-related technical issues
  • Participate in product validation, testing, and qualification activities
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Support customer requirements and product change initiatives
  • Analyze product performance data and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure products meet applicable quality, regulatory, and customer requirements
Leadership Responsibilities (Manager-Level Candidates):
  • Lead and manage Product Engineering resources across multiple products and programs
  • Establish departmental goals, priorities, and resource allocation plans
  • Define and execute product strategies and product lifecycle plans
  • Coordinate cross-functional product execution activities
  • Support long-term planning focused on product performance, cost management, and profitability
  • Develop and mentor engineering personnel
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction
  • Partner with senior leadership to align product engineering activities with business objectives
