OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-time Supply Chain Analyst Commodity Intelligence, you will be a strategic link between the Commodity Intelligence Department and the rest of the company by impacting how Fastenal manages and tracks underlying cost drivers tied to our product portfolio. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Tracking commodity costs, forecasts, and related dependencies
o Collaborating with procurement, product development, trade compliance, costing, pricing, and sales on key drivers and impacts to the business
o Building product cost models to predict relative impact to final cost/price based on underlying trends and changes in specific inputs
o Analyzing data and communicating known and predicted risk factors the business
o Analyzing and deriving meaningful summaries from large data sets
o Designing predictive cost modeling that can anticipate upstream events and downstream outcomes on pricing, inventory costs, product availability and other key trends

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Prior administrative, customer service, or data analytics experience OR industry experience and product knowledge
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Work independently as well as in a team environment
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Possess or are working towards a degree in one of the following areas: Math, Statistics, Data Science, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance or a related Business field
o Advanced knowledge of excel
o Experience with managing large data models or supporting predictive analytics systems
o Experience working with software like Smartsheets, Tableau, Power BI, R, or other data visualization tools

Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees. This package includes Health, Life, Long Term Disability, and Dental Insurance, in addition to, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and 401(k) with an employer contribution.

COMPENSATION:
The base pay range for this position is $38,000 - 50,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
