Position Overview

The Bell Person is responsible for providing courteous, efficient, and personalized service to hotel guests by assisting with luggage handling, guest arrivals and departures, and general guest support. This role plays a key part in creating a positive first and last impression while supporting Front Office operations and enhancing the overall guest experience at a full-service hotel.

What You'll Do

  • Guest Arrival & Departure Services
  • Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
  • Assist guests with luggage handling, delivery to guest rooms, and vehicle unloading/loading.
  • Escort guests to rooms and explain hotel features, amenities, and services.
  • Assist with guest departures, retrieving luggage and coordinating transportation as needed.

Guest Assistance & Hospitality

  • Provide guests with directions, recommendations, and general information about hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or inquiries.
  • Assist guests with special needs, packages, or deliveries.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional, and service-oriented demeanor at all times.

Transportation & Valet Coordination

  • Coordinate with valet services or transportation providers as needed.
  • Assist guests with arranging taxis, rideshares, or shuttle services.
  • Monitor guest drop-off and pick-up areas to ensure safety and organization.
  • Support traffic flow and curbside operations during peak periods.

Safety, Security & Property Care

  • Handle guest luggage and property with care and attention to detail.
  • Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or guest concerns to management immediately.
  • Follow hotel security procedures when entering guest rooms or handling guest belongings.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and guest evacuations if necessary.

Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with Front Desk, Concierge, Valet, and Housekeeping teams.
  • Communicate guest requests, room issues, or service needs to appropriate departments.
  • Assist with group arrivals, VIP guests, and special events.
  • Support Front Office operations during high-volume periods.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bell stand, luggage storage areas, and entrance.
  • Assist with package handling, storage, and delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the role.

What You'll Bring

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Previous hospitality, guest service, or bell service experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a full-service hotel environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and transportation options preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull luggage and packages (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
