Future openings - Build & Release Support Engineer | CI/CD

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Future openings - Build & Release Support Engineer | CI/CD in United States.

This role sits within a highly technical, developer-facing support environment focused on ensuring the stability and performance of large-scale CI/CD and build systems used across global engineering teams. You will act as a frontline expert supporting critical software delivery pipelines that power high-velocity development at enterprise scale. The position involves diagnosing and resolving build, release, and deployment issues across complex toolchains, ensuring minimal disruption to developer workflows. You will work closely with engineers across multiple time zones in a fast-paced, remote-first environment that values autonomy, precision, and deep technical ownership. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests while maintaining high-quality support standards. This is a highly impactful position where your work directly enables engineering teams to ship software reliably and efficiently at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide frontline technical support for CI/CD and build systems, handling incoming Slack requests and ticket queues while ensuring timely triage, resolution, or escalation of issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot build and release failures across tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, Java build systems, Docker, Artifactory, and Spinnaker pipelines.
  • Investigate complex software delivery issues, identifying root causes related to configuration, dependencies, infrastructure, or pipeline orchestration.
  • Manage incident response activities by gathering logs, reproduction steps, and system context to ensure efficient resolution and minimize developer downtime.
  • Escalate issues only after thorough investigation, ensuring clear documentation, structured analysis, and complete technical context for downstream engineering teams.
  • Maintain and continuously improve internal documentation, FAQs, and knowledge articles to reduce recurring issues and improve self-service resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to improve CI/CD reliability, tooling performance, and overall developer experience.
Requirements:
  • 2–5 years of experience in Build/Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or software engineering roles with strong CI/CD exposure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of build tools and workflows including Maven, Java-based builds, dependency management, and artifact handling.
  • Experience with software supply chain tools such as JFrog Artifactory, Nexus, or similar systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux/Unix environments, including command-line proficiency and scripting (Python or Bash).
  • Experience working with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with deployment orchestration tools such as Spinnaker or equivalent CI/CD release systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document issues, incidents, and technical resolutions.
  • Nice to have: experience with observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana, or prior SRE exposure.
Benefits:
  • Competitive and flexible compensation aligned with experience and global market standards.
  • Fully remote, global-first work environment with teams distributed across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Opportunity to work on high-scale, mission-critical CI/CD systems used by large engineering organizations.
  • Strong culture of autonomy, trust, and continuous learning with exposure to modern cloud and DevOps technologies.
  • Hands-on technical role focused on deep problem-solving and direct developer impact.
  • Career growth opportunities through complex technical challenges and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Inclusive, remote-first culture emphasizing flexibility, ownership, and knowledge sharing.
