Surgery Coordinator in Corpus Christi, Texas at Corpus Christi ENT Sinus & Allergy

Join Our Team Corpus Christi ENT Sinus & Allergy is looking for a motivated, organized, and compassionate Surgery Coordinator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping patients, coordinating multiple moving parts, and working closely with physicians to ensure a seamless surgical experience.
As the Surgery Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling surgeries, obtaining insurance authorizations, coordinating with hospitals and surgery centers, and guiding patients through every step of their surgical journey. What You'll Do

• Schedule surgical procedures with hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
• Coordinate surgery dates with physicians, anesthesia providers, and facility staff.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verify patient benefits.
• Schedule and track pre-operative testing, medical clearances, and specialty referrals.
• Educate patients on surgery preparation, arrival instructions, medications, and post-operative appointments.
• Communicate with physicians, nurses, surgery centers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure all requirements are completed before surgery.
• Review surgical schedules for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Follow up on outstanding authorizations, laboratory results, and required documentation.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy.

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of medical office experience.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience using EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred

• Surgery scheduling experience.
• ENT, surgical specialty, or hospital experience.
• Insurance authorization experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD-10 coding.
